Here are two pictures taken by HRD scientist Mike Black while on deployment flying into Dora (7/23).
Despite the unfavorable environmental conditions, Dora remains a tropical storm. Today’s flight will sample the peak winds as well as the SSTs with the AXBTs. Take off will be around 1730 UTC. The flight pattern will remain the same as yesterday’s. The dots along the flight track represent the drop and/or AXBT launch locations.
