NOAA42: Is flying a post-storm ocean survey research flight in the Gulf of America. They took off at 1200 UTC from MacDill AFB and will recover nine hours later at MacDill AFB. NOAA42 is sampling the ocean after Hurricane Isaac’s passage and launching ocean measuring expendable instruments such as (AXCPS, AXBTs and AXCTDs). Three UM/RSMAS scientists are on this flight. No HRD scientists are on this flight.
