HRD Director Frank Marks, along with Director Bill Read of the National Hurricane Center and Mike Montgomery of the Naval Postgraduate School briefed the media about the 2010 NOAA Intensity Forecast Experiment (IFEX2010), NSF PRE-Depression Investigation of Cloud-systems in the Tropics (PREDICT), and NASA Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) field projects and their relevance to improving hurricane prediction.
