AOML hosted 425 students and teachers on Friday and welcomed 275 visitors on Saturday during our Open House. Staff from Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen’s and Senator Marco Rubio’s offices each spent an hour touring our displays. The feedback from visitors was extremely positive, and many students and teachers who attended on Friday brought their family and friends back on Saturday. We showed citizens how NOAA science benefits South Floridaand the nation. More importantly, people made connections between the NOAA products and services they are familiar with, and the research and observations that are required to create and improve them.
