NOAA/IFEX:
The NOAA G-IV will takeoff Sunday 9/12 at 1730 UTC from Tampa, fly AL92 near environment and inner core (7.5 hr) and recover in St. Croix. NOAA G-IV will have a Monday flight 13SEP/1730Z from St Croix to St Croix. NOAA will fly one P-3 (N43) from Tampa, departing 20 UTC on Sunday, conduct a mission into AL92/PGI44 (8.5 hrs) and land in St. Croix. That mission is concurrent with the G-IV. The second P-3 (N42) into AL92, take off at 13SEP/08 UTC Monday from Tampa, landing in St. Croix. NOAA43 will have a flight MON 13SEP/2000Z , St Croix-to-St Croix. Possible return to TPA as the storm progresses westward.
NASA/GRIP:
NASA will fly the DC-8 departure from Ft. Lauderdale at 18 UTC targeting AL92 in a 9-h flight, 5 h on-station. Landing will be back in Ft. Lauderdale. A follow-on mission into AL92 is expected on Monday. Another mission could follow on Tuesday. The Global Hawk is on a 25-hour flight into AL92 wich took-off Sunday at 1130 UTC. There will be an estimated 5 h on-station. WB-57 will consider reposition the aircraft to Tampa early on Monday for possible flight on Tuesday afternoon, as the storm approaches their range.
NSF/PREDICT:
The G-V is flying today into AL92/PGI44 departing at 1100 UTC and completing a 5-hour mission into AL92. Monday 13 Sept , a single flight is planned for with takeoff time of 13SEP/1000 UTC. Additional flights Tuesday and beyond will be considered over the next two days.
AIR FORCE:
NHC cancelled the 12SEP/1800Z and 13SEP/06Z fixes into AL92 for the USAF.
