Samantha (Sammy) Harding joined NOAA’s Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory as a Laboratory Technologist through Mississippi State University’s Northern Gulf Institute. Sammy will work as an ‘omics laboratory technician focused on global eDNA, including eDNA data from the Bio-GO-SHIP (Bio-Global Ocean Ship-based Hydrographic Investigations Program), GOMECC (Gulf of Mexico Ecosystems and Carbon), and MBON (Marine Biodiversity Observing Network) projects.

The Eileen G. Brown – Nu Lambda Scholarship was established in September 2000 for the members of Nu Lambda Chapter of Chi Omega on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Eileen served as Nu Lambda Chapter’s Personnel Advisor from its founding in 1990 until 1998. It is awarded to a sister who demonstrates a genuine dedication to ensuring the well-being of the chapter, while maintaining an outstanding academic record.
