Robert Bremer joined AOML’s Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division as a University of Miami-Cooperative Institute Research Associate. Robert works with the Molecular and Environmental Microbiology group as a laboratory and field technician. He assists with multiple environmental microbiology projects but focuses primarily on the molecular characterization and tracking of microbial contaminants from urbanized watersheds to the South Florida coastal zone, particularly the Biscayne Bay watershed. Robert has a research background in molecular genetic studies of corals and their symbionts, as well as experience with field work, research diving, and operating small boats.
