Dr. Denis Pierrot is a chemical oceanographer at AOML’s Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division. He is in charge of the Ocean Carbon Cycle group’s Ship of Opportunity CO2 program which measures the surface partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) on Volunteer Observing Ships. Dr. Pierrot has also developed instrumentation and software that is used in the collection and processing of underway and discrete pCO2 data.
