Alexandra Fine joined the staff of AOML’s Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division as a University of Miami-Cooperative Institute Research Associate. Alexandra supports land-based sources of pollution projects, with an initial focus of determining the potential relationship between water quality in the Florida Keys and coral bleaching. She will also investigate how changes in shipping traffic at the Port of Miami affect fish populations in the urban coral nursery site at that location. Alexandra comes to AOML from the Mote Marine Lab in the Florida Keys where she ran the Ocean Acidification laboratory.
