 I am a microbial ecologist and bioinformatician specializing in microbial and viral communities across diverse environments. With a Ph.D. from the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography and postdoctoral experience at the Joint Genome Institute, I leverage metagenomics, and bioinformatics to study microbial ecosystems. As a Research Scientist at NGI and NOAA, I will analyze marine metabarcoding and metagenomic datasets, develop bioinformatics workflows, and integrate oceanographic data to uncover microbial biodiversity patterns. My work contributes to uncovering key ecological drivers of microbial communities while improving bioinformatics workflows for faster and more efficient data analysis, aligning with NOAA’s mission in marine science and environmental stewardship.
