AROBEX 2000 sondes

The Alaska Rain and Ocean Backscatter EXperiment (AROBEX) took place over the Gulf of Alaska in February and March of 2000. Part of the project involved NOAA P-3 aircraft launching dropsondes over the Gulf to compare with the University of Massachusetts C-band scatterometer.
