HRD scientist provides NOAA hurricane research overview to the Shanghai Typhoon Institute, Shanghai, China – 11-12 December 2014

Dr. Robert Rogers visited the Shanghai Typhoon Institute (STI) to discuss means to strengthening the interaction between STI and HRD under an Implementing Agreement under the Memorandum of Understanding between NOAA and Chinese Meteorological Agency initiated a year ago. HRD and STI are the only two laboratories in the world devoted specifically to researching tropical cyclones and the collaboration promises to build closer ties between the two groups.

Dr. Rogers presented two talks, one entitled “NOAA Hurricane Research: HFIP” and the other entitled “The Inner-core Structure of Rapidly-Intensifying Tropical Cyclones”. The presentations are available on the anonymous ftp site:
