HRD and AOML scientists participated in the 72nd Interdepartmental Hurricane Conference/Tropical Cyclone Operations and Research Forum. HRD and AOML scientists presented or were coauthors on 8 of the 39 presentations. Jason Sippel chaired the two Joint Hurricane Testbed (JHT) sessions, Sundararaman Gopalakrishnan chaired a panel discussion on “Recent and Planned Improvements in Modeling Capability”, and Frank Marks co-chaired a panel discussion on “Update on NOAA’s Hurricane Forecast Improvement Project: Proposed Framework for Addressing Section 104 of the Weather Research Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017“.
