Outreach

The scientists, technicians, and engineers involved in the SAM project also work to broaden the scientific literacy of the public and to teach and inspire the next generations of scientists via a variety of outreach activities. These include media interviews, participation in graduate student committees, working as volunteer advisers in science groups like MPOWIR, and more.

During the summer of 2018, Ms. Sierra McCall did an volunteer internship with the SAM team, and she wrote two articles that we're happy to host here. The first is a "Meet the Scientists" article that describes some of the people working on the project and the road which has brought them to this point in their career. The second article focuses on some of the unique challenges that women face while working in the sciences.
