Argo in Science

Argo profiling floats provide a data base that opens the doors to infinite scientific questions. During their mission, they not only provide profiles of temperature and salinity (and oxygen in some cases) but also velocity vectors at the drifting depth. Scientists use these information to investigate several aspects of the world ocean circulation and its effect on weather and climate prediction.

Data from Argo profiling float - Example

Example of data collected by Argo profiling float (WMO Id: 5903596) which was deployed in the North Pacific in October 2011.
