Coast of Cuba and we're able). Minimum - 00z fix - center and max wind drops requested. Flown at FL100. Original coordinates from POD were 18.9N, 77.0W Coords changed to 19.1N, 76.6W during CARCAH Pre Brief. 1 Drop Between Florida Keys and Cuba to verify SFMR Winds. SFMR showed 34kts at release time - Sonde showed: 44kts No Storm Drops - Drop Pallet Computer Screen died and went black. Couldn't recover. Fixed storm with plane only - no sondes. In troubleshooting Drop Pallet - Radar recorder got turned off. Missed radar recording of first fix. Actual Coords of storm center on first fix was 18deg48min N and 076deg28min W. Got the 0600z fix at 0500z just before storm made landfall. Rapidly increasing storm - each fix had higher winds, lower pressure, and higher inner core temp. 5 total fixes (counted as "Pennies"), 1 drop (not in storm environment) Cuba overflight worked fine for both en route and back home, and fixing storm in Cuba's waters. We passed coords/storm movement to Havana, Cuba with each pass. They were EXTREMELY GRATEFUL!!! We also passed coords/storm movement to GTMO Tower also. Plane returned in ALPHA 3 status for Drop Pallet Computer Screen INOP, Lost DeIcing Capabilities, and Lost Mode C ability to report acft altitude. jwb Penetrations Logged: 0 ARWO:____________________________________ Penetrations Verified: Verifier:____________________________________ Penetrations Posted: Awards:____________________________________
