Mission Plan :
NOAA 49RF (N49) will fly a HRD/NESDIS-tasked sampling of multiple air masses with GPS dropsondes, including the Saharan Air Layer (SAL), mid-latitude dry air, and a tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean. Observations collected will be used for validation of NOAA satellite sounding retrievals as part of the NOAA Unique Combined Atmospheric Processing System(NUCAPS).
