N43RF will fly an NHC tasked SFMR surface wind mission into Hurricane Jeanne. Takeoff time will be from MacDill AFB, FL around 3 PM and will recover in New Orleans, LA at midnight.

Mission Summary:

N43RF flew an NHC tasked SFMR surface wind mission into Hurricane Jeanne. Takeoff time was at 3:30 PM EDT from MacDill AFB, FL and recovered in New Orleans, LA at 12:30 AM EDT.

A series of 8 dropsondes in high winds just north of the eyewall and along a 25 mile path normal to the coast near Vero Beach was conducted. A total of 35 sondes and 10 AXBTs were released in Jeanne's core and tail Doppler and LF radars performed well.
