Mission Plan :

N43RF is tasked for a one plane CBLAST mission into Hurricane Ivan. Takeoff from St. Croix, USVI will be at 11 AM AST and will recover at MacDill AFB, FL at 8:30 PM EDT. The plane will fly a butterfly pattern at 3000 feet outside the inner core and will climb to 8000 feet when penetrating the eyewall. The goal of today's mission is to collect SFMR, SRA, and downward pointing high-resolution IR images to define thesurface wind and wave fields with in the hurricane. No step decents will be flown.
