Mission Plan :

N43RF will fly an AXBT deployment mission in the wake of Hurricane Ike. It will leave MacDill AFB, FL at 1500 UTC and arrive back at MacDill, FL at 2300 UTC. The flight is at 8000' unpressurized.

The mission was flown according to plan. AXBTs were dropped every 1/2° longitude/latitude, zig-zagging N and S, while proceeding toward the W, along the storm track. A total of 62 AXBT were deployed, of which 57 returned temperature profiles.
