Mission Plan :

N43RF will fly an AXBT deployment mission over the loop current in front of Hurricane Ike. It will leave MacDill AFB, FL at 16:00 UTC and arrive back at MacDill, FL at 22:00 UTC. The flight is at 8000' unpressurized.

Mission Summary :

Take off Landing
MacDill AFB, FL15:36 UTC MacDill AFB, FL22:11 UTC

The mission was flown according to plan. AXBTs were dropped every 1/2° longitude/latitude. A slight deviation for convection occurred at 24°N 90°W. All AXBTs were channel 12 transmitters. A total of 47 AXBT were deployed, of which 45 returned temperature profiles.

Problems :

None. Very successful mission. Plane landed safely. Went to happy hour immediately afterward. Saw Sam the Bartender.
