Tuesday, August 16, 2005 A test flight is scheduled for tomorrow, takeoff at 18 UTC. N42RF will not be ready by tomorrow, so the flight will involve the NRL P-3 and N43RF only. A similar flight plan to that described on August 15 is planned. Nothing significant has changed in the forecast. The remnants of T.D.10 continue to move toward the west-northwest, about 800 nm east-northeast of the leeward islands. There is still some possibility for regeneration of the system, if it moves out of its currently unfavorable shear environment (Fig. 2). Any possible targeting of this system would still be several days away however. Elsewhere, there is some convection in the southwestern Caribbean, but the environment is not too favorable for development, and any development if it did occur would take it over the Yucatan peninsula.
