Greenhouse Effect Detection Experiment Disc 1-2 1992 update. The dataset includes surface, upper air and/or satellite derived measurements of temperature, solar irradiance, clouds, greenhouse gases fluxes, albedo, aerosols, ozone, and water vapor, along with Southern Oscillation Indices and Quasi-Biennial Oscillation statistics. Many of the data sets provide global coverage.
Historical Map & Chart Collection. The Coast Survey's Historical Collection contains a wide variety of documents including nautical charts from the mid-1800's through the early 1900's, sketches of coastlines including James A. Whistler's sketch of Anacapa Island of 1854; a Civil War collection; a Washington, DC topographic series; and early exploration maps of the Pacific Northwest. These documents serve as excellent examples of 19th Century cartography.
The collection is being scanned via state-of-the-art color scanning techniques at 800 dpi (dots per inch) and resampled for public use at 300 dpi. The result is a crisp, clear raster image of the original document which can be used for educational and research purposes and geo-referenced for GIS use. The Office Of Coast Survey requests only a bibliographic citation for use of its materials in other publications. Hydrographic Survey Data. This two disc Cd-Rom set includes over 44 million soundings from 4,961 surveys. The database consists of depths and navigation features digitized from the plots of hydrographic surveys completed between 1930 and 1965, and survey data acquired digitally in the field since 1965. These data were collected by the National Ocean Service for the coastal waters of the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virden Islands.

Mean Surface Wind Fields from the ERS-AMI and ADEOS-NSCAT Microwave Scatterometers from Aug 1991-05/2000.This CD-ROM provides surface winds measured by three satellite microwave scatterometers (AMI aboard ERS-1 and ERS-2, and NSCAT aboard ADEOS-1), objectively analyzed into weekly and monthly fields, as well as monthly 8-year climatological averages. To reflect its higher spatial coverage and temporal resolution, the fields for NSCAT are provided bi-weekly and bi-monthly, although data from all satellites were processed with the same objective mapping parameters.

National Climate Information Disc. By NOAA/NESDIS/NCDC. This compact disc presents maps and time series graphs of three of the National Climatic Data Center's frequently referenced historical divisional data sets: these are precipitation, temperature, and the Palmer Hydrological Drought Index (PHDI). Much of the disc contains materials previously published in 1984, 1985, and 1986 in Historical Climatological Series 3-2 to 3-7, and 3-12 to 3-15. Data are summarized by state climatic division. Climatic divisions are regions within a state that are reasonably homogeneous with respect to climatic and hydrologic characteristics. The names of the 344 climatic divisions in the contiguous 48 United States are listed in table 1 and shown in Figure 1. The disc contains 1032 time-series graphs, 4180 maps, 5400 frames of video animation.

Numerical Model Suit of NCEP & HP Supercells. This CD contains training materials for the needs of regional field sites of the National Weather Services. Each one of the eight course would take 5-1.5 hours to complete.
Contents for Numerical Model suit of NCEP & HP Supercells are as follows:
1- Numerical Weather Prediction. This course provide an introduction to the basic principles of modeling the dynamics of the atmosphere.
2- The Early ETA Model. The purpose of this module is detail the recently developed NCEP step-mountain (ETA) vertical coordinate model.
3- The Global Spectral Model. This course provides an overview to global spectral modeling(including the operational MRF and AVN models) at NCEP.

New Technologies for Coastal Mapping. This CD-ROM provides information, a sample case study, and imagery pertaining to the use of remote sensing systems for detecting, characterizing, and monitoring coastal erosion. This information is presented in an HTML format that can be viewed on various computer platforms. This CD-ROM contains the web-browser Internet Explorer for viewing all text information, graphics, and video on the IBM PC platform. Radiosonde Data of North America 1946-1992. This four disc CD-Rom set contains all available radiosonde data for North America ( U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean Islands) through the 100-MB level. It covers 1946 to 1994. Data include significant, mandatory, and special wind levels for all observations times, and geopotential height, temperature, dew point, wind direction and scale speed.

ReefBase. A Global Database on Coral Reefs and their Resources. Version 3.0 1998
Sea Level Data. Produced by NOAA/NESDIS. This CD-Rom contains information from the TOGA Sea Level Center at the University of Hawaii that compiles hourly records from regional and national sea level networks primarily within the tropics. These data are annually submitted to the World Data Center-A and the monthly values are provided to the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level. Data is of variable length with the greatest concentrations between 5 and 30 years, although a few sites have over 70 years.
Seasonal Simulation Set of four CD-Roms produced by The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast. They contains seasonal ensemble forecast from a comprehensive numerical model written for scientistics world wide. These set can be use to get experience in using ensemble forecast data and to develop probabilistic seasonal forecast tools relevant to particular regions of interest. The four CD-Roms contain selected fields for the Winter season DJFM, SpringMAMJ, Summer JJAS and the AutumnSOND of the period of 1979 through 1993.
SeaView: Satellite Imaginary of the southeastern U.S. Coast. Contains. NOAA CoastWatch AVHRR images of sea surface temperature (SST) of the southeastern US coastal waters at approximately 4 km resolution over a period from 1991-1996 are contained in two file formats. An annotated JPEG graphics version is meant for quick browsing. These images contain a landmask as well as annotations for temperature, date and time, satellite ID and coastal landmarks. TIFF files contain a landmask but are not annotated. Since they preserve 8 bit radiometric pixel information they can be used for image processing purposes
Solar and Meteorological Surface Observation Network. This is three disc set. It provides access to hourly surface observations for 234 National weather Service sites for the 1960-1990 period and to coincident modeled solar radiation data.

Variables on the CD-ROM are barometric pressure, surface air temperature, dewpoint temperature, Cartesian components of surface wind, surface sensible and latent heat fluxes, sea level, sea surface temperature, and depth profiles of temperature and current in the upper ocean. Some data are global and some are regional.
Taxonomic Code ver. 8.0. By NOAA/National Environmental Satellite Data, and Information Service/National Oceanographic Data Center. This CD contains records of 244,000 organisms. The information is updated constantly and has been designed in a hierarchical code of 12 digits that comply with the Linnean System of Biological Nomenclature, that has been universally used by biologists and botanists since 1756.

This is a worldwide database focusing on scientific and technical information about the most recent water resources developments, long term trends, and changes. It contains more than 250,000 abstracts taken from monographs, reports, scientific journals, and other publications.
Waterlit 1975-1995 . This database covers industrial aspects of water, and waste waters and sanitation. It contains citations on numerous aspects of water sanitation and quality, derived from almost 500 journals from around the world. Subjects include wastewater treatment, legal issues of water, irrigation, hydrology, water supply, ground water, industrial wastes, aquifers, catchments, precipitation, evaporation, soil water, rivers, modeling, sedimentation, distribution systems, dams, corrosion and analytical techniques. Waves CD-ROM Vagues.Canadian Reference Database of Fisheriesand Oceans. 1993. World Ocean Atlas 1994 By NOAA/National Environmental Satellite data, and Information Service/National Oceanographic Data Center. This ten disc set contains Temperature, Salinity, Oxygen, Apparent Oxygen Utilization, Oxygen Saturation, Phosphate, Silicate, Nitrate fields, Level profile of North Atlantic(0-40), North Indian, South Indian, North Atlantic (40N-90N),South Atlantic, North Pacific(0-30N), South Pacific, North Pacific (30N-90N), Atlantic and Indian Oceans. In addition, the CD-ROM series contains the objectively analyzed one-degree latitude-longitude mean fields for each of the measured parameters, and two derived parameters (Apparent Oxygen and Oxygen Saturation), five-degree square statistics of standard level values, and objectively analyzed upper-ocean (0-400 m) temperature anomaly fields for years 1941-1990. Profile data on the CD-ROM series are recorded in ASCII format and sorted geographically.
World Ocean Database. The World Ocean Database 1998 (WOD98) CD-ROMs, containing observed and standard level profile data, represent the first part of an extension of earlier work (World Ocean Atlas 1994 - WOA94). The second part will be the World Ocean Atlas 1998 (WOA98) which will present objectively analyzed fields of many of the variables in WOD98. World WeatherDisc 1994. By NOAA/NCDC. This CD contains extensive meteorological data describing the climate of the earth both recently and during the past few past hundred years. The following data sets include:
- World Monthly Surface Station Climatology. Time series of monthly-mean temperature, precipitation and sea-level and/or station pressure for 3293 stations around the world; some since 1700's.
- Worldwide Airfield Summaries. Detailed climatological summaries for 5717 airport locations around the world. Data include monthly and annual summaries of maximum and minimum
temperatures, dew points, relative humidity, precipitation, snowfall, numbers of days with thunderstorms, and a large number of parameters based on wind speed, ceiling, and visibility.
