from:lu02 to:ax07@noaa.gov subject:Re: Re GPS is working? fancy, internet at sea.... I didn't get a whatsapp text but that's my service Im sure. Closing the web browser seems to speed get_messages up quite a bit. Next time you use it, close the web browser. to talk to the launcher, just open the serial program and select ttyUSB2 and set the speed to 1200 bps with no flow control. Good luck and don't get hurt!!!!! remember that it isn't worth getting hurt. Pedro ax07 wrote: from:ax07 to:lu02@noaa.gov subject:Re: GPS is working? I hope you got my whatsapp text. Weather station is collecting data. I was able to fix the GPS by opening up the window so it doesnt crush the wire. I figured it out after retracing my steps. I was about to go to sleep and wanted to make sure the windows were closed tight. I never had that happen to me before. The Iridium wasn't working Wednesday night till Thursday afternoon. I shut everything off before but this time I did it for a longer period of time. I turned the computers off first. Then, I unplugged the Iridium interface box (I did that last time trying to get GPS back up and I lost Iridium). I plugged back Iridium first. Then, turned on both computer. I got internet from the boat just in case I dont get Iridium working. get_messages takes forever or it gets stuck. I only have 120 minutes of internet and have already used up 30 minutes. I will still use this but even now, get_messages loses connection. Also, I forgot most of the things to do on the serial port terminal. I remember USB0, 19200, ate and thats it. We are on the move but they are planning to stop on Sunday. I will test out the AL once more. My back is feeling a little bit better. lu02 wrote: from:lu02 to:ax07@noaa.gov subject:GPS is working? I saw that you transmitted the rest of the XBT files and the profiles look good. I guess you figured it out? Let me know. Also, make sure the weather station is collecting data. There should be a file per day. I hope things improve out there. Pedro
