You could actually do the whole thing in windows since it's java.
you just need to install oracle JDK on the windows side.

Looks like I got it working on Win10 with the linux shell that's here. The AutoFTP_FE doesn't work as there's no x11 stuff installed. Eventually, I remembered the file location for userprefs.xml. I would say to add that to the readme for autoftp. There was no mention in the readme of where to setup the server, user, etc.  Everything else seems to work though. I'll test a bit more tomorrow after I do a reboot. But it looks good.
