Still just floating out here. Guess the storm is taking longer to pass? I'm going to go up and talk to the bridge in a few minutes and see what's going on.

Hmm. That sounds unfortunate for the train. Do you know how far apart those two cities are? If it's going to add a ton of time, I'd rather drive. 

If that's the case, I'd probably lean more towards driving myself from Algeciras to Madrid. Can you take a look at how much europcar by the train station would cost? Also, see if it's possible to make a reservation there without paying for it in advance. That was the issue last time. 

Also check enterprise (I think that's what it was) near the port. They would be able to get a reservation without having to pay for it. So, I guess make a reservation there as a fallback and we can always cancel it once I get in. I remember it being more expensive, but if europcar is going to be paid upfront, I don't want to make the reservation until I know when I'm getting in for sure. It's something I can try to do once I get to the hotel. 

When you make a reservation at enterprise, please also add a GPS so that I can make sure I won't get lost. I don't know if I'll completely be able to count on my phone.

OK, nice to hear from you.
I have already cancelled the hotel for tomorrow (27th)
You still have a reservation for the 28 in Algeciras, and 29 in Madrid.

As far as trains, it seems there is still an issue with the tracks somewhere that will require you taking a bus.
Tickets are not available through the Rail Europe website (probably because of this), but I can buy them through the Renfe (train company) website.
They have this notice there for this ticket "The travelers whose trip elapses through the section Antequera Santa Ana and Ronda, will perform this section by bus".

Departure times are 0825 and 1430 for the train.
