from:ax07 to:lu02@noaa.gov subject:weather Hey Pedro, It seems the heavy winds have come to a head. I've had problems with my last three or four drops, all getting messed up due to wind. I've already turned my launcher into the wind, and I don't think moving it would make much of a difference at this point with the amount of wind on the stern as well as being dangerous for me to do so at the moment. I'm also unfortunately running low on probes, if I go by what the cruise plan shows, and I'm inclined to believe that it will be correct or damn close to it. So for now, to preserve probes on the tail end, in case anything should happen, I am only deploying twice per station if necessary. So far, that's been enough to get past 600m on each station. According to my calculations, we should be getting past the weather by the time you get this, or probably by the time I get a response from you. The bridge has said we'd be getting where we need to go by 12:00 today (about 10 hours from now) but if we stay at this heading and speed, I think we'll hit there faster than that. We'll see, and I hope it's faster. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try getting through to iridium in an hour or so. I haven't been able to yet, but I haven't tried very much tonight until this started happening. I also sent a message to Ricardo informing him briefly of this through whatsapp. Best regards, Zach
