LBTES/CRER/BTE 2016 Research Cruise Processed Hull-Mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (SADCP) Data The file named NF1602_SADCP.mat, located in this directory contains the entire processed hull-mounted acoustic Doppler current profiler (SADCP) data set for the April 28 - June 25, 2016 cruise (NF-16-02/03) conducted aboard the NOAA Ship NANCY FOSTER. These data represent only one leg of this cruise (from Havana to San Miguel). Following this cruise the ADCP transducer was found to be damaged with some internal flooding. The problem resulted in a slow failure over time. During this leg, the data appear to be okay, albeit with a greatly reduced range for the narrowband (100 meters or less in most cases). OS150 data collected on all other legs was found to be unusable due to the ADCP transducer damage. The SADCP mounted aboard the NOAA Ship NANCY FOSTER is a Teledyne RD Instruments Ocean Surveyor 150kHz ADCP (OS150). It's heading source is provided by a POSMV (directional GPS). This file is readable using MATLAB. It contains the following structured arrays: adp : processed narrowband SADCP data See adp.notes for a complete description of the array elements.
