% Cruise: SAMOC-05 (2-12 Jul. 2011) % Chief Scientist: Alberto R. Piola (SHN) % Ship: ARA Puerto Deseado (CONICET, Argentina) % Funding Agency: Servicio de Hidrografía Naval (SHN,Argentina) This directory contains data collected during "SAM05" cruise as part of the Southwest Atlantic MOC ("SAM") project. The project is run by researchers at the Servicio de Hidrografía Naval (SHN, Argentina), the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET, Argentina), the Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo Pesquero (INIDEP, Argentina), the NOAA-Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory ("NOAA-AOML"), the Universidad de São Paulo (USP, Brazil) and the Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul (FURG, Brazil). The data are reported in ascii text files. The files consist of a header followed by data converted to engineering units. The header contains station position, date and time information. Data from individual stations are presented in separate ASCII character files consisting of 1 dbar data records in physical units. Each file is named after the CTD station number corresponding to this cruise. The variables are presented in the following order, with missing values indicated by "-9.990e-29": Latitude [deg] Longitude [deg] Pressure [dbar] Primary Temperature [ITS-90, deg C] Primary Conductivity [S/m] Primary Oxygen Voltage [V] Secondary Temperature [ITS-90, deg C] Secondary Conductivity [S/m] Fluorescence Primary Salinity, Practical [PSU] Secondary Salinity, Practical [PSU] Primary Oxygen concentration [ml/l] Primary sigma-theta [kg/m^3] Secondary sigma-theta [kg/m^3] Primary Potential Temperature [ITS-90, deg C] Secondary Potential Temperature [ITS-90, deg C] Depth salt water [m] Data were calibrated and quality controlled by Marcela Charo at the Servicio de Hidrografía Naval, Argentina (mcharo@hidro.gov.ar).
