Readship This README file accompanies the shipwind.csv file This files contains 5 minute reading from the ship's anemometer , meteorological sensors, and thermosalinograph. The Young vane type anemometer was located on the mast staff on the bow of the ship approximately 15 m above the waterline . The bow tower structure was located about 5 m behind it. The air temperature and dew point are measured above the bridge. The values are not highly reliable. SST and salinity are measured with a thermosalinograph at the bow intake approximately 5-m below the water line Columns in shipwind DATE: DD-MM-YY time "GMT": time in GMT JD (dec.): decimal Julian day (remember 1996 is a leap year) Lat: latitude (decimal degrees) Long: longitude (decimal degrees) Air-T(C): air temperature R.H.: relative humidity Gust (m/s): highest 1 second? wind recorded in 5-minute interval SST (C): sea surface temperature from thermosalinograph Sal: salinity Pres (mB): pressure Dir: wind direction Wind speed (knot): 5-minute average wind speed in knots Wind speed (m/s): 5-minute average wind speed in m/s
