This directory contains data collected during "SAM05" cruise as part of the Southwest Atlantic MOC ("SAM") project. The project is run by researchers at the Servicio de Hidrografía Naval (SHN, Argentina), the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET, Argentina), the Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo Pesquero (INIDEP, Argentina), the NOAA-Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory ("NOAA-AOML"), the Universidad de São Paulo (USP, Brazil) and the Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul (FURG, Brazil).

The data is reported in ascii text files. The files consist of a descriptive header followed by data converted to engineering units. The header contains station time and position information, and information regarding the software used for processing the raw data. The header information is followed by data records. 

Data from individual stations are presented in separate ASCII character files. Each file is named after the LADCP/CTD station number corresponding to this cruise. When available, the variables are presented in the following order:

Pressure [dbar]
Depth [m]
Zonal (E-W) velocity [cm/s]
Meridional (N-S) velocity [cm/s]
