NOAA P-3, G-IV, WB-57, and Global Hawk flight tracks on NASA MTS: 1) generate HRD TKMAP turns (track) and drops (GPS dropsonde) text files 2) ftp the turns and drops files generated by TKMAP to the HRD ftp server -ftp ftp.aoml.noaa.gov -user: anonymous; password: your email -cd incoming/hrd/dunion/shout/ -put turns1.txt n872_turns_active_1.txt -put drops1.txt n872_drops_active_1.txt -uploaded files will be moved to the HRD pub directory within 3 minutes: -ftp://ftp.aoml.noaa.gov/pub/hrd/dunion/mts/ 3) NOAA P-3s & G-IV and NASA WB-57: file naming conventions -n42_turns_1.txt -n42_drops_1.txt -n43_turns_1.txt -n43_drops_1.txt -n49_turns_1.txt -n49_drops_1.txt -n928_turns_1.txt -n928_drops_1.txt -NOTE: each aircraft can have up to 2 active track plans (turns1.txt/drops1.txt or turns2.txt/drops2.txt) -NOTE: dropsonde files are optional (turns files can be used exclusively) 4) Global Hawk (AV-6): file naming conventions -n872_turns_notional_1.txt -n872_turns_planned_1.txt -n872_turns_active_1.txt -n872_turns_notional_2.txt -n872_turns_planned_2.txt -n872_turns_active_2.txt -NOTE: the GH can have up to 2 track plans (1 & 2) -NOTE: NOTIONAL box: only the turns file will upload into MTS -NOTE: PLANNED: the planned track prior to take-off (will not change during the mission) -NOTE: ACTIVE: the active track during the flight that will change as updates are made 5) Tail numbers: -n42= NOAA P-3 (42, Kermit) -n43= NOAA P-2 (43, Miss Piggy) -n49= NOAA G-IV (49, Gonzo) -n872= NASA Global Hawk (AV-6) -n928= NASA WB-57 6) All track and dropsonde files will be automatically be picked up by MTS from the HRD ftp server -ftp://ftp.aoml.noaa.gov/pub/hrd/dunion/mts/ -NOTE: transfers occur every few minutes 7) Once MTS grabs the files from the HRD server, the information can be found at: -MTS >> bundles >> Planned Tracks >> Global Hawk (NA872) Plan 1 (or Plan 2)
