We approached from the northeast quadrant to 27.4N 96.7W for a 1730Z invest time. After we hit those coordinates, we were not seeing any indications of a center and called for course corrections to a point about 30 miles to the southeast. We then picked back up on the planned route and headed to the SW quadrant as far as we could until we hit land and turned due east towards the SE quadrant. At this point we noticed that the winds were more indicative of a trough axis than a closed circulation, so we started a delta zizag pattern from the SE quadrant heading north. We confirmed it was a trough axis, so CARCAH cut us loose to head NE to an area of convection to investigate the winds (where we dropped a sonde), and then we headed home. Similar to yesterday, we had a GPS FOM error of 7 about 3/4 into the flight and changed from C to F.
