Mission ID: 1014A MICHAEL Tail #: 5306 Take-off time: 10/9/18 9:57 Flight hours: 8.5 ARWO: Carpenter Comments: Hurricane Michael.  Had an issue when we were starting our first inbound leg from the NW and CARCAH said "ugh, NOAA49 is in your area and dropping sondes.  Hopefully you're talking to them."  We weren't, because they're too high.  We had to hold for a few minutes to figure out if we wanted to risk going inbound when there were sondes dropping in our area.  I'd like to think this could be planned better.  Three planes in the storm at the same time (NOAA42, NOAA49, and us) - you'd hope that there'd be some coordination there at time of tasking.  The crew was uncomfortable. Equipment: Couldn't log into 48 and couldn't trasmit on 42.  Had to get the METSHOP to reload the keys.  48 worked great after that.  The hygrometer was all over the place all day.  I'd say my SLP was red for nearly a third of the mission. Problems: Hygrometer;#SATCOM
