REMARKS:
Consider the 12Z "on time" as we were asked to go early, with storm 
approaching the islands
The 18Z is tough to call... massive satcom probs, carcah initially 
told us to go to the barn if we
couldnt fix it, when i was able to get a couple obs out, he asked for 
one more fix, direct from
present position, which ended up being at 1630Z... you could say he 
released us early

1-sec data updates until you try to load a mission, then it dies
ended up clearing all the previoius mission files in the DATA D: 
drive, under the "missions" folder,
per metshop; works now

one sonde terminated early, then LM was unable to retrieve it in 
Aspen, renamed it
had to deal with the 51515 10191 issue (he forgot we 
couldn't handle it, after he deleted that group,
I got it fine, and added in a remark for "slp extrap")

on the 2nd inbound (NE, 1205Z) there was a lot of turbc showing on radar, but it looked better 
as we got closer, not as bad as first feared.   there was considerable attenuation, tho.

td looking too cold, showing a 9C depression in heavy rain

upgraded to hurricane at 12Z advisory

satcom probs galore, started with a VDC-300 failure, then no indications other than the busy light
stayed on indefinitely
recycled vdc, that didn't 
fix it
tried 42, no better there
tried other gnd stations, no joy
only thing that worked was shutting down both the VDC and the ARC210, 
let rest, try again
then only 1-2 messages
started 2 hrs into flight, suspect maybe radio overheating?
