WOODS | |Nav | BRINSON | |ARWO | HARTER | |LM | BICKMAN | |OTHER| | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- REMARKS: Late on 18Z fix requirement due to INOP radar on 5301 (primary aircraft). Apparently a cronic problem with that plane. The "plan to arrive in the middle of the window crowd" takes another hit!!! Flight time on 5301 was 1530Z-1615Z for 0.7 hrs (added to the total above). Hygrometer went INOP during the mission Td>TA (I know, a real shocker). SFMR winds contaminated by strong convection in the NE quad and close to the center. 3 fixes instead of four because Havanna cordoned off a 15nm circle around them so we had to wait until the FL center was east of that circle (at least a 1.5 hr "delay"). Apparently, Cuban overflight doesn't include Havanna. So, during the interim, we scanned the wind field between Cuba and the Keys. Not much on radar, so I decided to do land fixes with system C which seemed to work out fine. Definitely an out-of-the-box mission.
