Updated inflight to 15.7N 083.5W. Tried for box pattern and found good NE quad wind (150/40) there. Went south and found SE quad wind (220/25). Couldn't go W to get SW quad, but went along coastline about 20 nm off (20 nm due to convection). Found a good E wind and NE wind (NW quad). Came back along coastline on inside of convection and able to fix after finding NW wind (SW quad). Performed 3 more fixes. Storm upgraded to TS PAULA after first fix. Developing feeder band became more vigorous through the flight. Lots of lgt, infreq mdt, turbc assoc with this band. Infreq ltg in NW quad. Found a 77kt fl wind (58 kt sfc wind) NE quad after second fix, but obviously convection aided as no other winds approached this except in the convection (50 kts FL and 69 sfc in convection inbound to second fix). SFMR worked well with 6 deg bump (SST by buoy 29 deg, used 35 deg; visual agreed well with SFMR). Hygrometer worked will up to 300 MB.
