Evan B. Forde
BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in Miami-Dade County,
FL.
After attending
Miami-Dade
Public Schools and graduating from
Miami
Carol City High School (Class of '70), I attended
Columbia University, and received a Bachelor's in Geology (Oceanography Specialty)
in May of 1974. I began to work for NOAA as a scientific technician
(on a
temporary student appointment) during the summer of 1973. After winning a NOAA Fellowship to attend
graduate
school, I became a full time permanent NOAA employee in 1974, and returned to Columbia University
where I studied at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory,
(L-DEO) and earned my Master's Degree in Marine
Geology in May of 1976. After receiving my degree, I returned to work at NOAA's Atlantic
Oceanographic and Meteorolgical Laboratory, in Miami, FL.
I continue to be very involved in my community.
