Job Offer Areas of Concern

 

I appreciate the opportunity to be considered for the OCD Webmaster position and feel that, as communicating is an integral part of the overall objectives of research, my abilities could contribute to the achievements of this division. My understanding from Dawn, at this point, is that my role will be much the same as in the past in that I will be performing web tasks only, I will continue to work 20-hr/week, and Dawn will remain my supervisor. I understand that I am being asked to increase my responsibilities (currently SFERPM and FLBAY) to include web work for the entire division including specific programs such as CHAMP. I further understand that SFERPM and FLBAY are to remain the highest priority in general, but that there may be times when CHAMP or OCD tasks take precedence. I will work with Dawn in this regard. For now, however, our plan is to provide each major program e.g., SFERPM, FLBAY, and CHAMP, approximately 30% of my time with other OCD web work receiving approximately 10% of my time. It is also my understanding that this time allotment will be adjusted as needed, namely in the February 22 program review.

*Above times of availability are based on my Fall99 college term schedule, these times will vary from term to term.

 

  1. Due to educational schedule/required study time, the non-flexible hours are required for Monday and Wednesday, as well as Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
  2. Opportunity to have face-to-face meetings/conceptual conferences 1-3 times per week in times above stated.
  3. I have a workstation set up at home, with a computer entirely devoted to work purposes, a 56k modem, a flatbed scanner, color printer, and all the necessary software and conditions get work done efficiently from home.
  4. Fridays from 12:00pm-6:00pm I will be in my office working.
  5. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be open for appointments and situations where it is necessary for me to be in my office.  

 

Compensation

 

Current: $9.00/hr

Asking: $10.50/hr + periodic review & COLA raises.

 

  1. Although I understand that funds are limited within OCD, given my increased contributions and responsibilities, I would hope to see a pay increase to $10.50/hr at the time of my next renewal (which would be towards the end of December).
  2. Beyond the scope of my pay increase, I expect to receive periodic review and COLA raises.

 

 

Future Prospects

 

  1. What are the chances that a position will be available to me in the future that will provide long-term security?
  2. Will I be considered for a more permanent position with benefits and higher pay should one come available?
  3. Upon completion of training and educational levels, will there be advancement commensurate to my achievements?
