The Model Evaluation Group

The Model Evaluation Group (MEG) was formed in late 1996 at the request of the Program Management Committee (PMC) for the purpose of providing expert, outside guidance on the development of models for research and prediction in Florida Bay. To date, the MEG has met on two occasions (October of 1996 and May of 1998) and produced the following reports: Workshop on the Design and Specifications for the Florida Bay Water Quality Model: Report of the Model Evaluation Group (October 22-24, 1996) and Progress Review of Florida Bay Models: Report of the Model Evaluation Group (May 11, 1998). Since that time, there has been substantial progress on RMA10, FATHOM, and the Water Quality Model.  Further, initial progress has been made on both the seagrass and higher trophic level models.
