Accommodation: Breakwater
Lodge (booking form attached). A single room is of order R536
per night including breakfast (about USD 85-90 depending on
exchange rates). The booking is available from 9-16 May to
accommodate flight arrival and departure dates and other activities
(if you wish to arrive early or stay on for a holiday). Please
indicate to Breakwater Lodge what nights of accommodation
you need.
Travel: Cape
Town has direct international connections to Buenos Aires
on Malaysian Airlines, most European centres on a variety
of airlines, and, indirectly, to West Africa and North America
via Johannesburg (2 hours flight time from Cape Town). The
airport is about 30 mins drive from Breakwater Lodge.
Weather:
May is the beginning of the winter rainfall season
in Cape Town. Average May rainfall is 69 mm with 11 rain days
and maximum (minimum) temperatures are 20oC (9oC) However,
conditions can be quite changeable at this time of year with
berg winds (like California’s Santa Ana winds) pushing
the temperature above 30oC on occasion.
