Introduction

The role of the South Atlantic Argo Regional Center (SA ARC) is to analyze data from all floats within the the Tropical and South Atlantic (20N - 40S) that were deployed by principal investigators and partners of the international Argo Project. This analysis includes the comparison of profiles from floats with independent observations collected by floats or other instruments as well as with climatologies and reanalysis fields from numerical models. The results of this analysis, which are available online, are an important tool to ensure and maintain the highest possible quality of Argo data.
