PNE Data and Products
Moored buoy data is quality controlled and distributed by PMEL's TAO Project Office.
2011 PNE Cruise Data
CTD data have been corrected to bottle salinity and
oxygen measurements. Due to a failure of the Autosal on the Ronald H. Brown, salinity values were not reliably calculated for the first five casts; all casts were calibrated according to salinometer results from samples drawn at the final station, and the salinity accuracy is likely not to WOCE standards. Oxygen accuracy was unaffected and is to WOCE standards. The data can be downloaded
here.
2010 PNE Cruise Data
CTD data have been corrected to bottle salinity and
oxygen measurements, and are accurate to WOCE standards. They can be
downloaded
here.
2009 PNE Cruise Data
CTD data have been corrected to bottle salinity and
oxygen measurements, and are accurate to WOCE standards. They can be
downloaded
here.
2008 PNE Cruise Data
PNE08 data from the R/V Antea is calibrated, but may be of lower quality than typical PNE cruises as the samples were shipped to AOML and processed over a month after the end of the cruise The data can be downloaded here.

2007 PNE Cruise Data
XBT data were recalculated using the old (code 51) drop rate, which gave better results when compared to CTD data.
CTD data have been corrected to bottle salinity and oxygen measurements, and are accurate to WOCE standards.
TSG data were compared to CTD casts at 5m water depth,
the average depth of the water intake on the Ronald H. Brown.
Temperatures were found to match well, with a mean offset of 0.02 C
(positive: CTD warmer). This offset was removed from the data below.
The standard deviation of the adjusted TSG temperature from CTD values
is 0.067 C. TSG salinity was offset from CTD salinity by a mean of
0.056 psu (positive: CTD saltier). This offset was also removed from
the data below. The standard deviation of the adjusted TSG salinity
from CTD values is 0.027 psu.

TSG data were compared to CTD casts at 5m water depth,

The standard deviation of the adjusted TSG temperature from CTD values
is 0.021 C. TSG salinity was offset from CTD salinity by a mean of
0.184 psu (positive: CTD saltier). This offset was also removed from
the data below. The standard deviation of the adjusted TSG salinity
from CTD values is 0.016 psu.
