Dr. Molly O. Baringer's main interests include the general circulation and hydrography. She's been a Research Oceanographer at AOML since 1994 after completing her Ph.D. at the Mass. Inst. Tech.-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in 1993.

On going projects include

• High resolution XBT lines in the Atlantic Ocean
• The Western Boundary Time Series Program near 27 N in the North Atlantic Ocean
• Measurements of the Meridional Overtuning Circulation in the North Atlantic ( Rapid-MOC program, RSMAS MOCHA page, RAPID-MOC at NOC)
• Evaluating the strength and variability of the Atlantic meridional heat transport in the ocean
• Global observational program to quantify the carbon, hydrographic and tracer measurements in the ocean ( Clivar CO2/Repeat Hydrography Program)
