2015 AOML Open House

2015 AOML Open House: Several PhOD personnel (R. Lumpkin, R. Perez, R. Smith, G. Goni, C. Meinen, R. Lusic, M. Goes, and U. Rivero) participated in the NOAA/AOML Open House on Thursday to Saturday (5/14 to 5/16).  Students and general public learned about global ocean currents, the types of instruments used to measure currents, and how currents are forced by winds, tides, and density differences. Students also participated in a hands-on density demonstration and a game to guess how long it takes for different types of materials (plastics, glass, etc.) to naturally degrade in the ocean.
