Historical data from Jimmy Larsen

From 1982 until 1998 the Florida Current project was led by Dr. Jimmy Larsen at PMEL. Jimmy processed his cable data in a slightly different manner than we have been using on the modern cable data, removing the geomagnetic signals in a more complicated manner, however the differences should be very small for daily-mean data because the geomagnetic signals are strongest at fairly high frequencies.

The files presented here contain daily-average cable transport estimates, from March 18, 1982 to October 22, 1998, provided to us by Jimmy Larsen. We have reorganized the data into the same file format that we are using for the modern cable data.

The project scientists involved in the Florida Current Cable Project would appreciate it if you informed us of any papers or talks that you prepare using this data. Continued funding of this project depends on us being able to justify to NOAA (and hence Congress) the usefulness of this data.
