2013 Open House

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the federal agency that provides daily weather forecasts, severe storm warnings and climate monitoring, fisheries management, and coastal restoration, is opening its doors to the south Florida community.

Two of Miami’s local NOAA offices, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) / Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) and the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML), are hosting an open house for local  students . If you have ever been interested in bringing your students to an environmental research facility, this is your opportunity!

The open house will be an interactive experience, rotating throughout each NOAA facility for approximately 45 minutes. Science topics will include hurricane research, climate science, oceanography, local fisheries, coral communities and endangered species research.  NOAA scientists will be on-hand to describe their research projects and answer questions.

Event:  NOAA Open House
Location:

75 Virginia Beach Drive, Miami, Fl, 33149

 (across from the Miami Seaquarium)
