-- EQPAC92, Fall, Master datafile -- The EQ92FAL dataset includes the following files: EQ92FALC.CSV, EQ92FAL.DES and EQ92FAL.QC where the CSV file contains the data in comma-delimited format. The QC file contains the explanation of the quality control flags and the DES file is a chronological description of all changes/updates to the dataset. This file is a chronology of changes and/additions to the master datafile, with the most recent changes described immediately following this sentence. ======================================================================== October 10, 1997 (Dr. Peng/B. Huss) Deleted OXYGEN_ML, OXYGEN_UM, NO2_UM, NO3_UM, SIO3_UM, and PO4_UM from the datafile. These parameters still available. September 19, 1997 (B. Huss) Changed FM_TALK (Frank Millero's TALK) values to -9 for sample numbers 5607, 7709, 11513, 1221, 14604, 8117, and 8115. September 10, 1997 (B. Huss) A correction has been applied to all Millero's TALK and TCO2 data due to a correction in the normality of the acid used during all legs of the cruise. The correction factor (CF) is 0.996954 where Corrected TALK (or TCO2) = Old TALK (or TCO2) * 0.996954 These corrections have not been applied to the University of Miami Technical Report #RSMAS-94-005, November 1994, at this time. June 16, 1997 (B. Huss) Merged the DEL13C data into the datafile. September 25, 1996 (B. Huss) Removed the QC flags for latitude and longitude. August 18, 1995 (B. Huss) Converted NO2, NO3, SIO4, and OXYGEN_UM from umol/L to umol/kg. Modified the record structure to include NO2_KG, NO3_KG, SIO4_KG and OXYGEN_KG and merged the converted data into these fields. Renamed NO2, NO3, SIO4 to NO2_UM, NO3_UM, and SIO4_UM. Modified the EQ92FAL.UNI file to include NO2_KG, NO3_KG, SIO4_KG, and OXYGEN_KG. July 27, 1995 (B. Huss) Per Hua Chen's request, changed PCO2_QC flags from 2 to 3 for sample numbers 4808, 6601, 6602, 9106, 9107, 9409, 13416, 21105, 32104, and 35410. July 6, 1995 (B. Huss) Per Dr. Zhang's instructions, I changed the nutrient QC flags for sample number 1207 from "5" to "9" and changed the PO4_QC flag for sample number 18201 from "4" to "2". June 21, 1995 (J. Hendee) See May 25, 1995 release for the file structure for Version J being released today. June 21, 1995 (B. Huss) Ran Jim's range checking program on the master datafile. The high CHLORO and NO2 values were fine given the location where the samples were taken (coastal). Doug Campbell did not respond about two low FM_PH values (sample numbers 11801 and 16903). CTD_SAL for sample number 1203 was changed from 124.572 to 34.572 and CTD_SAL for sample number 34711 was changed from 39.497 to 35.497. CTD_PT and CTD_ST (CTD salinity potential temperature and sigma theta) were recalculated. PHAEO for sample number 28710 was changed from -0.080 to 0.000. May 25, 1995 (J. November 10, 1994 (B. Huss) Modified the master datafile to include potential temperature and sigmatheta for both bottle salinity and ctd salinity. Initialized the four fields to -9.999. Calculated both bottle potential temperature and sigmatheta and ctd potential temperature and sigmatheta and merged these into the master datafile. November 9, 1994 (B. Huss) Added nutrient QC flags and initialized them to blank. Added lat and long QC flags. Checked the lats and longs in the master datafile against the Chief Scientist's Reports. Leg 5 of the datafile had a consistent truncation error in the longitude minutes field (LONG_MIN) and there was also some missing latitude hemispheres. Errors were corrected and the lat and long QC flags initialized to 2 to indicate an acceptable measurement. November 2, 1994 (B. Huss) CTD salinity corrections for sample numbers 25501-25512 and 26401-26412 were merged into the master datafile. Added lat and long QC flags to the datafile and initialized them to "A" which means the latitude and longitude data has not been reviewed. November 1, 1994 (B. Huss) Merged R. Byrne's pH data into the master datafile. This was a complete replacement of existing pH data. Sent a copy of the merged data for verification. Recieved verification the data was merged correctly. October 19, 1994 (B. Huss) TCO2 update for Leg 3 from PMEL was merged into the master datafile. Sent a copy of the merged data for verification. October 18, 1994 (B. Huss) Updated PMEL CTD salinity was merged into the master datafile. The updated datafile was checked to make sure the salinity data was merged correctly. Sent a copy of the merged data for verification. Received verification the data was merged correctly. October 15, 1994 (B. Huss) I merged Hu Chen's updated PCO2 data into the master datafile. This was a complete replacement (all PCO2 data was initialized to -9.99 and then the updated data was merged into the master datafile). Investigator specific QC flags for pCO2 are: A = no corresponding TCO2 for pCO2 data reduction B = no corresponding potential temperature C = no corresponding TCO2 and potential temperature D = use estimated TCO2 in pCO2 data reduction E = use estimated potential temperature in data reduction Sent a copy of the merged data for verification. Recieved verification the data was merged correctly. September 7, 1994 (B. Huss) Updated TCO2 data (along with the QC flags) from Rik Wanninkhof were merged into the master datafile. Ran Jim's range checking program on the updated data. Sent a copy of the merged data for verification. Received verification the data was merged successfully. August 2, 1994 (J.
