REMARKS:
Tasked for Center Drops - from FL050.
Max wind band in NW Quad if there is a max wind band.
After first fix, and capturing 91kt flt level winds and 67 kt SFMR
winds (verified visually), Sandy was Re-Upgraded to Hurricane status.
First fix equals another PENNIE.
4 center drops (only 3 transmitted - 1 failed after it splashed and
we were too far outbound to go back)
1 NW Quad drop near outbound recco point to verify SFMR.
4 Fixes (Both 12z and 18z on time)
Satcom failed between CARCAH and this plane only. Plane could still
send to KBIX and K403.
Manually sent data after 3rd fix to K403, who would then foward to
KNHC.
Not sure what happened. Very Frustrating!!!!
Radar Recorder file showed 0 bytes recorded at end of mission!
No Radar recorder file again! Additional frustration.
