Mission Plan :

NOAA 42RF will fly a mission over the Gulf of Mexico in order to test the unmanned GALE aerial vehicle launched from the P-3's AXBT chute. The P-3 will leave MacDill AFB, FL 1400 UTC and will recover back at MacDill by 1600 UTC.

NOAA 42RF flew a mission over the Gulf of Mexico testing the unmanned GALE aerial vehicle launched from the P-3's aXBT chute. The Gale UAS met 7 out of 8 requirements on the checklist to deem the flight a successful mission. The Gale UAS was unrecoverable but the team is evaluating the mission results for future improvements. The mission left MacDill AFB, FL 1322 UTC and recovered back at MacDill at 1522 UTC.
